There's Always a Good in Goodbye.
Leadership in communications will always have a way in the world because no matter how distant we become with technology, communication will always be a factor in how things are done. My generation probably has never written a physical letter but have written countless emails. We understand tone, grammar, and presence in those emails are essential. We understand the importance of communication in the workplace, with consumers, and at home. We've grown up with technology and learned how to maneuver it on our own without a manual. We can, for sure, lead the world in communication.
My favorite topics were branding and crisis management. I get joy out of evaluating marketing images and videos on TV and social media that I often find myself silently critiquing their skills. For some odd reason, I also find cringeworthy crisis satisfying to watch. I always think to myself, "If they're smart, they will do this." I learn new ways to do fix problems by studying those already in the business. My method will not always be the best way, which opens the way to learning new things.
I've learned a lot in this class, and I plan to continue my strategic communications studies. Writing these blogs each week has allowed me to find new perspectives on each subject and learn something that I could have overlooked in a textbook. I felt more engaged and willing to complete the assignments, knowing I would share my knowledge with those outside of the classroom. Thank you for taking the time each week to read my writing.
The course is at the end. I won't be posting as much or any unless it is a requirement for another term. I've had so much fun writing these blogs each week, explaining and learning for myself. This course is not the first I've had of this caliber, and I don't expect it to be my last, considering the route that I plan to take upon graduation. I'm sure I'll find myself coming back to this blog for future reference. Diggin' This Information isn't the end of my career but a starting point. I look forward to gracing your presence in other ways soon.
See Ya Later,
-Jaleesa Diggins
